Anton James Andresen
THE OFFICIAL MAGICIAN OF SALEM MASSACHUSETTS

Anton James Andresen, born in Salem, was recognized by both the Massachusetts House and Senate for his unique talents and his service to the City of Salem by presenting him with formal citations from both chambers designating him as the Official Magician of Salem on March 30, 2017. The ceremony was held in the Senate Chamber, at the Statehouse in Boston. State Representative Paul Tucker from the House of Representatives and Senator Joan Lovely from the Massachusetts Senate officiated over the formal session and made the presentations.

Then on April 27, 2017, Anton was again formally recognized for his talents by the City of Salem during its Council Meeting.  A formal resolution was entered into the official record, which stated in part:

“…We, the Salem City Counsel resolve to recognized Anton “The Great” Andresen for being the Official Magician of Salem and for performing and making magical memories for the City of Salem”

A New Salem Hotel

Introducing The Hotel Salem, a vibrant and one-of-a-kind accommodation on the North Shore of Boston. This 44-room boutique Salem hotel is now open in the middle of the action on the bustling Essex Street pedestrian mall in the city center. Book your reservations today!

Honoring Salem's Retail Past

Housed in a former high-end clothing store space, our lively Salem MA hotel features mid-century modern décor with vintage, retail-inspired touches that embrace its stylish past. Inspired by the New England department stores of yesteryear, our decor mixes midcentury modern design with funky details from stores in the ’50s and ’60s. Our Salem hotel truly pays homage to the last gasp of the downtown anchor store—before the days of strip malls and big-box chains.

Salem Hotel Accommodations for Everyone

Our boutique North Shore hotel offers a variety of room types designed to suit all needs and budgets. From micro-rooms to spacious, loft-style suites, you'll find a Salem accommodation to fit your getaway. Each guest room offers private baths, vaulted ceilings and all the amenities you expect from a Lark Hotel.

Two New Salem Restaurants

Two onsite restaurants, Counter and The Roof offer year-round and seasonal dining, respectively. Located on the first floor, newly opened Counter offers lunch and dinner featuring clever starters, breads, and mains, as well as handmade noodle dishes. The Roof, Salem's only seasonal rooftop bar and restaurant, will offer evening diners delicious cocktails, unique tacos, and a raw bar—all served with a view. Lark Hotels Executive chef Justin Perdue will oversee both restaurants.
